Head of Business Development
Coalition For Queens (C4Q) seeks a Head of Business Development to lead and oversee the identifying, securing, and managing of partner relationships that help other key functions of C4Q achieve their respective goals. We’re looking for an excellent communicator with extensive experience building and managing important partner relationships.
The Head of Business Development would be a key individual in helping us build our multiple objectives. Our mission driven organization is unique in its diversity and scope of projects: building community through tech events; developing Access Code, our intensive and inclusive tech education program; creating a long-term urban development plan for tech growth in Queens. S/he will be responsible for collaborating with our various teams to seek out partnerships that provide value both for C4Q and for the partner, both in the near and long term.
C4Q works with leading business and philanthropic organizations to build an innovative, inclusive, and diverse Queens tech community. As Head of Business Development, you would be the key person handling partnerships from a wide-range of backgrounds: tech companies, startups, corporations, foundations, financial companies, government entities, and more.
Cultivate and manage high-level and local partner relationships; this includes securing partners and systematically expand our network of tech industry partners
Develop and maintain mastery in positioning C4Q’s program offerings to potential partners
Identify new partnership opportunities both inbound and outbound to increase traction
Develop, evaluate, and prioritize new opportunities and new ways to grow C4Q through partnerships that drive significant new talent, message amplification, and revenue
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and coordinate and drive the development of project proposals
- Lead and participate in the process of acquiring new partnership opportunities and improve current network of tech companies for potential job placement opportunities
- Skillfully adjust to different needs and perspectives depending on the partner, in order to reach certain partnership goals, such as fundraising, message amplification, impact amplification, and more
3-5 years of strategic partnerships or Business Development experience in the local market
Forward-thinking and able to think across different disciplines
Able to communicate precisely and effectively, both verbally and in written form
Able to work independently
Strong mission and values alignment with C4Q, and interest in technology
- Able to represent C4Q at its best in the community
- Able to build, lead, and motivate the development team
Outgoing personality, ability to work with multiple stakeholders from various backgrounds
Excellent attention to detail and record keeping
Demonstrated leadership for growing team and volunteers
- Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, comfort building financial models, and skill working with data sets
- Strong work ethic
