Head of Talent
Coalition for Queens (C4Q) seeks a Head of Talent who will lead the rapid growth of our team by creating the strategies and processes to identify and hire top talent. The Head of Talent will also drive the successful placement of graduates of our tech education program Access Code into developer positions at local tech companies.
C4Q works with leading business and philanthropic organizations to build an innovative, inclusive, and diverse Queens tech community. Our mission-driven organization is unique in its diversity and scope of projects: developing Access Code, our innovative tech education program that provides high-quality mobile development courses to talented adults of diverse, low-income backgrounds; building community through tech events like the C4Q-founded Queens Tech Meetup; and engaging partners in tech, government, and the broader community to develop and pursue new initiatives.
The Head of Talent will be a key individual in helping us achieve objectives across projects by creating a robust talent pipeline to support organizational growth. C4Q seeks to grow from a full-time staff of 9 people to 20+ people over the next year. The Head of Talent will have direct responsibility for the entire recruiting process, from identifying and pre-screening candidates through successful onboarding and integration. In addition to full-time staff, C4Q runs a year-long internship program, which would also be managed by the Head of Talent.
The Head of Talent will also be responsible for the imperative task of finding suitable jobs for our Access Code graduates. A balance of ensuring that graduates are empowered to find jobs in a timely manner, as well as find roles that they are passionate about, is critical. The Head of Talent would support students through their transition from Access Code to the tech industry by creating and implementing programs that connect students with jobs, internships, and other career opportunities.
