We teach adults from low-income and diverse communities how to code and help them get engineering jobs in tech. Our graduates go from making $18,000 to over $85,000 a year, going from poverty to the middle class. Graduates are hired at leading companies such as Pinterest, Kickstarter, IBM, Jet, JPMorgan Chase. Participants are representative of the diversity of the NYC community with over 50% women, 60% African American or Hispanic, and 50% immigrant, and 50% without a college education.

C4Q is a rapidly growing startup that’s scaling to make national impact. Founded in 2011, C4Q has doubled in budget and staff each year over the past 4 years. Just three years ago we had only two employees. We are currently a team of 20 and anticipate doubling our team to 40 this year. Position Summary

The Operations Associate will play a critical role in the functioning and structuring of our organization to support growth. The Operations Associate will be a key team member in coordinating and managing C4Q's organizational systems and functions, including finance, human resources, technology, and administration. The Operations Associate will work closely with the Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, and Director of Finance in setting up organizational systems and processes, and will be responsible for the organization's day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking and ambitious individual who gets excited about organizational processes that spur growth, and this role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience and skills in a variety of functional areas of nonprofit management.


Operations and Office Management

  • Provide administrative and operational support to ensure that the organization runs smoothly

  • Assist ED and COO in development of the systems and internal processes of a growing organization

  • Ensure general office upkeep, including maintenance of office equipment and space

  • Manage office space to support tech event and activities

  • Oversee inventory of supplies, including purchasing

  • Oversee inventory of files, both physical and digital

  • Ensure appropriate maintenance of all technology and support staff in their technology needs

  • Coordinate and arrange logistics and materials for internal company meetings, team off-sites, and Board of Director meetings

Financial Management

Under the supervision of the Director of Finance,

  • Assist in maintaining accurate records in Quickbooks

  • Manage day-to-day account transitions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash transactions, and donation processing

  • Support the annual audit

  • Support C4Q's annual budgeting and planning process

Human Resources

  • Manage recruitment and hiring flow

  • Process and maintain new hire paperwork



  • 1-2 years of professional work experience

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
