Strategic Plan Community Engagement Manager

Responsibilities

  • Identify, initiate, and deepen relationships with various community stakeholders;

  • Organize, schedule, and implement meetings and working sessions with the Task Force as well as large Community Sessions with broader public;

  • Implement meetings, surveys, and other ways for communicating with, and receiving feedback from the community about the Strategic Plan;

  • Attend community meetings on behalf of C4Q to understand community feedback, provide information about the Strategic Plan and community engagement, and advocate for public participation

  • Attend relevant non-C4Q programs and events to better understand community interests, needs, and activities;

  • Meet with elected officials and government agencies

  • Maintain various databases of groups of stakeholders;

  • Create mechanisms for internal and external evaluation of engagement initiatives;

  • Distribute information to the community and broader publics through multiple channels;

  • Distribute information to C4Q staff and volunteers regarding engagement activities;

  • Maintain thorough records of community engagement activities

Qualifications

  • Experience and success working in partnership with local residents and community organizations;
  • Deep understanding of New York City political systems, urban planning, and economic development
  • Familiarity with Queens neighborhoods is preferred;
  • Familiarity or interest in tech and entrepreneurship is preferred;
  • Effective communication, both in person and in writing;
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers;
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Success at managing a wide array of tasks and projects and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
