Director of Partnerships
A community leader in K-12 education, workforce training and tech. For 10 years, Ortiz was a Director of Recreational Programs, leading youth programming across the city, at the renowned 92nd Street Y (92Y), a 140-year old cultural center in New York. Ortiz most recently served as Director of Leadership Programs at 92Y’s Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact, where he served on the team that pioneered GivingTuesday – a global day of giving and philanthropy; managed the prestigious NYC Venture Fellows program with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) that supports the most promising technology entrepreneurs across New York City; and produced the renowned Social Good Summit, an annual conference done in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, the United Nations Development Programme, and Mashable.
Ortiz attended Baruch College and has a B.A. in Political Science and English Literature. He lives is Downtown Brooklyn with his wife Bena; two children, Mila and Nico; and his dog Dolly.
